Standings Posted
Submitted by admin on Wed, 04/29/2009 - 16:01This year, for the first time, we are posting the standings for several divisions on the web site. As of right now, this is a manual process, with each manager emailing in game scores and the standings being tabulated each day.
Managers - if you see errors in the standings, please let us know and the correction will be made ASAP.
President's Letter - Jan, 2009
Submitted by admin on Thu, 01/08/2009 - 16:41Dear Parents,
It is with great excitement that I write this note for our first newsletter of the season. As last year, I hope that you find this newsletter informative and helpful.
Your new Board of Directors is in place and working hard preparing for the upcoming season. I am pleased to inform you that your Board of Directors has again approved our association this year with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). This association will offer work sessions with your Board, our managers and coaches, as well as our parent nation, to improve the quality of the Little League experience through means including positive leadership, coaching and support techniques.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Chevrolet, and in particular, Luck Chevrolet here in Ashland, has renewed its commitment to Ashland Little League for the Chevy Youth Baseball initiative. This initiative will provide baseball equipment, a charitable donation, participation in a raffle for a new Chevrolet vehicle and many other amenities. We are thrilled that Luck Chevrolet has renewed its support of the ALL.
As a preview, some of the items your Board of Directors is working hard to implement in 2009 include the following: new bleachers at the major field and refurbishment of other field bleachers, shifting the equipment shed between the major and minor fields to open more free space between the fields, improvements to the concession stand experience, focusing on third-party staffing and a possible new menu, scheduling as many games as possible at our fields in Ashland, and opening day activities.
And finally, I am pleased to announce the first annual “Little League Day” at Randolph Macon College. Little League Day is tentatively scheduled for March 15, 2009. Our players will be welcomed to the home baseball game, have the opportunity to meet with RMC players, get autographs and hopefully see RMC win over Tufts University. More details will be forthcoming.
We look forward to a great 2009 season.
Sincerely,
Paul Burch, President
